AT&T, the nation’s second-largest mobile carrier, announced plans to purchase T-Mobile, for an offer of $39 billion. They announced this about in February.
If the merger is allowed by U.S government regulations, AT&T and T-Mobile would easily beat Verizon Wireless to become the nation’s largest mobile phone company with 130 million customers. Those two companies would control 75% of the U.Smobile market.
